Abstract
Reviewing methodologies to highlight gaps in the current state of education within Pakistan and designing frameworks that can lead to improvements.
The purpose of this report is to present various studies conducted in regards to state of education within Pakistan and highlight gaps that exist within the current system. The study also aims to provide the possible courses of action that must be undertaken by the government to improve the educational sector. The analysis of various methodologies reveals that Pakistan at present is facing low levels of literacy rates and there is an immediate need to develop a system that would allow policy makers to monitor the quality of education. The system would need to identify the learning achievements of pupils in terms of literacy and skill competency while also highlighting factors that impact the ability of students to learn.
The study provides various recommendations as put forward by different authors and holds that polices should be designed to enhance the quality of government education by improving physical infrastructure and school environment. Accessibility to schools must be enhanced especially at a primary level and effort must be expended to remove gender disparity persistent in rural areas of Pakistan. Pakistan faces several obstacles in the achievement of educational goals and there is a dire need for action across all levels to bring about the desired improvement.
