Research Associate


Responsibilities  
  1. To contribute to Developyst’s knowledge platform by researching and writing articles, knowledge products etc. To support knowledge by contributing knowledge products based on education data procured/visualized by Developyst. 
  2. To be proficient with software including SPSS and STATA. To be able to run specific queries on large data sets, carry out statistical analysis, regression etc. 
  3. To have good academic background in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and to be able to apply this learning and give input on research design and methodologies employed within education sector publications. 
  4. To develop understanding of widely used indicators and indexes within Education Sector and apply it to innovate and create research based solutions to address problems within Pakistan’s education sector.  
  5. To drive the design and Preparation of Research Plan, questionnaire/ Interview Schedule / Reports and other knowledge products for Developyst
  6. To coordinate field interventions for data collection through interviews, focus group discussion etc. 
  7. To coordinate preparation of training material, tools and methodologies for research work.
  8. To work with Developyst team in setting up education related policy events, dialogues etc. and contribute towards agenda, execution and post event work. To coordinate stakeholders, write press briefs and document out-puts of these events. 

Position Requirements  

Formal Education & Certification
  • Minimum Bachelors in Economics, (Econometrics, Quantitative Research Methods, Qualitative research methods (required with good grades) Project Management (preferred).
  • Good academic background/skills in quantitative and qualitative research design
Knowledge, Experience and Personal Attributes 
  • Comfortable with using SPSS, STATA and other programs used for data analysis
  • Good writing, social and presentation skills
  • Evidence of event management experience (university extra-curricular would suffice)
  • Ability to travel freely 
  • Good written and oral communication skills.  
  • Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.  
  • Self-motivated and directed.  
  • Keen attention to detail.  
  • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.  
  • Ability to operate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
